This collection is composed primarily of correspondence, as well as financial records, grant proposals, meeting notes, and salary surveys. The collection documents the activities of Deputy Director of Operations at the Los Angeles County Natural History Museum, Leonard Navarro from 1973-2003 and incldues correspondence regarding the La Brea Tar Pits, asbestos mitigation, affirmative action, admission fees, exhibition development, and emergency management procedures. The collection also documents the 1987 Whittier-Narrows earthquake and the 1992 Los Angeles Uprising.
